Title: Repair parts for Canon EX-based printers
Post by: Rhetorica on Jun 08, 2026, 10:12 PM
Discord member hunterkll, who used to be in the NeXT sales business, has repair kits (rollers and wiper blades) for toner cartridges based on the Canon EX core, including various makes of the HP LaserJet 4, 5, the DEClaser 5100, and Apple LaserWriter 4/600 and 640 PS. These printers are all serial-based PostScript devices and can be used with NeXT machines. hunterkll also reports that he's working on getting repair parts for the Canon SX cartridges, which he will likely provide to Rob at Black Hole.

Indeed, that is me!

For the canon SX parts sourcing, I have a lead on the vinyl blades that are required to make the toner cartridge print cleanly, so at minimum I can get those manufactured. I'm working on getting OPC drums and other parts to refurbish SX cartridges, which as you all know - SX engine is the NeXT laser printer engine.
