4GB partitions under NeXTstep (and Previous)

I remember back in the day I used 1024kb blocks to format a 4GB drive and have the entire partition usable.

I'd like to recreate this for 2 purposes.

First, I'd like to make a blank 4GB empty drive for all of our use and particularly for use on Previous as a second 'drive' to store more software on.

Second, I remember I made the 4TB drive 'bootable' by using a floppy 'kick disc'. Basically the floppy had enough drivers and kernel on it to do a bsd command to the scsi 4GB drive making it bootable. It's similar to how NeXT let you boot from a CD rom by first kicking off a floppy with enough basic drivers.

For Previous use in particular, it will be easy to make a floppy image to kick to such a 4GB partition.

Has anyone successfully imaged such a 4GB 1024kb block (instead of 512) successfully. I used to have a fstab to do this with command line app, i think it was sdformat 1.3.

Anyway, I know I found it really "freeing" once I moved to 4GB partitions and think it would be a big help to Previous.app users to be able to move to a bigger space for their work.

Thanks for any help/pointers!
